1. Introduction
Welcome to UpSheet Pro (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Google Sheets™ Add-on.
By using UpSheet Pro, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate the service:
- Email: to verify license entitlement, register your free plan, and for support communication.
- Usage data: aggregated or de-identified statistics to improve the product (for example, feature usage counts).
- License status: your plan (free or Pro) and its status, to control feature access.
- Spreadsheet records: the ID and link of each spreadsheet in which your free plan or Pro license is used, the email address of the person using it, and, for the free plan, the name of the tab it covers in each spreadsheet. We use these only to know which sheets a license covers. They never include the contents of your cells.
3. What we do not collect
We want to be explicit that we do not:
- Send, store, or index the contents of your spreadsheets on our servers. The add-on reads cells in the sheet you have open only to place and update attachment indicators, and that data stays within Google. We store only a spreadsheet’s ID and link, as described above.
- Access files you upload beyond what Google APIs require to attach them to your sheet.
- Store your files on our infrastructure.
- Sell your personal information to third parties.
4. File storage
When you upload:
- Files are uploaded to your Google Drive™.
- References are stored in your spreadsheet.
- You remain the owner of your data.
5. Google APIs
UpSheet Pro uses Google APIs. Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
6. Permissions (OAuth scopes)
UpSheet Pro requests exactly these scopes and no others:
- Google Drive™ (drive.file): create and manage attachment folders and files created by the add-on, plus files you explicitly open with it — not your entire Drive.
- Google Sheets™ (spreadsheets.currentonly): read and write only the spreadsheet you currently have open, to attach files to cells and show attachment indicators, and to read the open spreadsheet’s ID and tab name for the spreadsheet records described in section 2.
- UI (script.container.ui): show sidebars and dialogs inside Sheets.
- Script storage (script.storage): store add-on settings via Apps Script Properties.
- Email (userinfo.email): identify the current user for licensing and file sharing you request.
7. Security
We use appropriate safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS for data in transit, and we follow industry best practices aligned with Google’s platform guidance.
8. Retention
- License records: retained for the subscription period plus a short grace window (for example, up to 30 days) for operational needs.
- Usage analytics: aggregated or de-identified within a limited period (for example, 90 days).
- Spreadsheet records: kept while your free plan or license is in use, and deleted on request.
- Your files: remain in your Google Drive™ under your control.
9. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. You can also uninstall the add-on and revoke access at any time.
10. Third-party services
- Google Workspace™ Marketplace: distribution and licensing.
- Google Drive™ / Google Sheets™: core platform services.
11. Children
UpSheet Pro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
